Confio is a blockchain engineering company, led by Ethan Frey, which has been working on a number of contracts related to tech in the Cosmos ecosystem. We are currently building out a smart contract platform on top of the Cosmos SDK, as part of a grant. However, we are looking to continue development and look to engage a group of open source developers to build out this platform.

Cosmwasm enables wasm-based smart contracts to run on the Cosmos SDK. We have built out a smart contract runtime, test/deploy tooling, and a tendermint-based blockchain app that exposes this functionality. We currently document how to run a local, single-node chain and plan to launch a stable testnet by the end of January. We are looking for engineers interested in contributing to this platform.

Some key areas:

• Go development - working on the wasmd blockchain app - prior knowledge of the Cosmos SDK is quite useful
• Rust development - build out smart contracts based on cosmwasm, we just published a few samples so far, and looking to build out many more
• Frontend development - we look to build out a fully functional Typescript API to interact with contracts via web-based dApps, experience with web3 is useful but not necessary
• Documentation - do you think teaching is the best way to learn? We are assembling solid docs and help documenting more contracts / features is always welcome (basically taking code-level docs and READMEs and making something presentable)
