Description

We’re looking for an experienced Protocol Engineer to help develop a generalizable standard for on-chain financial engineering. The right person for this role is obsessed with system design, performance, security, and decentralization. This person loves working in a fast-paced environment with a small team, enjoys working on cutting-edge technology, and is demonstrably interested in and experienced in blockchain-based application architecture.

Role

• Architect, build, maintain, and own Solidity smart contract development alongside the Founder of Convexity Labs for the core project - Plaza, the public square for on-chain bonds and leverage
• Develop efficient mechanisms for cross-chain and cross-ecosystem value transfer and accounting alongside the Founder of Convexity Labs
• Improve the liveness and safety of critical pieces of the Plaza codebase
• Shape the toolchain, culture, processes, and norms of Convexity Labs
• Mentor more junior engineers and help them level-up
• Collaborate with the founders of Convexity Labs to make strategic product and go-to-market decisions

Qualifications

Required

• 2+ years developing production code in Solidity and/or Rust
• Experience designing and building mission-critical systems from scratch, deploying them to production, and maintaining them
• Deep understanding of standards & tooling around blockchain-based application development, including automated building, testing, and deployment
• Demonstrated ability to educate and train more junior engineers
• Professional or native English language proficiency
• Interest and knowledge about DeFi, blockchains, or cryptocurrency

Bonus

• Experience developing smart contracts in Rust (Solana or Cosmos)
• Up to date on technical developments across the Ethereum, Solana, and Cosmos ecosystems
• Demonstrated contributions to open-source projects
• Exposure to popular frontend frameworks (React, Typescript, etc.) to help out with frontend development in a pitch
