About Slipcase
About the role
The Role For the past 8 years, we have worked in partnership with a top-tier development agency to bring our vision to life and oversee the maintenance of our systems. We’re now looking for our first in-house developer to join our team; a confident, capable full-stack engineer ready to take ownership of a mature, production-ready platform and lead it into its next chapter. You’ll be at the heart of the product, working alongside a dynamic and entrepreneurial team to design, build, and ship features that thousands of professionals rely on every day. You won’t be alone; we’ll continue working with our long-term agency partner on larger projects and DevOps support. But day-to-day, you’ll be the key technical voice in the room. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of Slipcase tech from the inside out. What You'll Be Working On - Driving the evolution of our web platform and native apps - Leading development on new product features, from concept to deployment - Supporting API integrations, backend systems, and our internal machine-learning engine - Working directly with the business team to translate needs into scalable code - Balancing quick iteration with smart architecture and long-term maintainability Our Tech Stack - PHP (Symfony) + MySQL + Twig - Native Android & iOS apps connected via a TypeScript REST API - Hosted on AWS with Docker containers + CDK orchestration - A custom-built machine learning/NLP engine for smart content curation - Integration with multiple third-party APIs for distribution and analytics About You You’re not just a developer —you're a problem solver, architect, and tech lead rolled into one. - Experience writing clean, PSR-compliant, SOLID code - Confident working independently, from scoping out features to pushing them live - Experience with full-stack development (especially in our stack!) - Keep performance, uptime, and data security top-of-mind - Comfortable updating documentation, expanding test coverage, and helping with our ISO27001 compliance journey where needed. Bonus Points if you: - Have got AWS certifications or strong hands-on experience with AWS tools - Are open to manage occasional out-of-hours deployments (with the freedom that comes with it!) What We Offer - The chance to own and evolve a mature, production-ready platform - Real autonomy and input into the product roadmap and technology choices - A flexible work setup (hybrid, or office-first - you decide) - Be the first in-house dev and help shape the future tech team - Work at a company where tech is at the heart of the business, not an afterthought - Lead developer, but with the support and experience of a team of experts by your side.
