The Role As a Senior Java Developer, you'll be building the core systems that power our platform. You'll have real ownership—designing architecture, making key technical decisions, and shipping features that our users actually care about. We're a startup, so you'll also be the go-to technical expert when other teams need help. Think of it as being part engineering lead, part problem-solver extraordinaire. No two days look the same, and that's exactly how we like it! ✨ What You'll Be Doing - 🏗️ Design and build scalable Java applications that handle real user traffic - 🔧 Jump in to debug critical issues and keep everything running smoothly - 💡 Make architectural decisions that shape our entire platform - 👥 Collaborate with product, ops, and customer success teams to solve problems together - 📚 Mentor other developers and help level up the entire team - 🎯 Pick up new projects quickly and drive them across the finish line What We're Looking For - 5+ years of hands-on Java development experience - Strong grasp of Java fundamentals (generics, lambdas, concurrency) - Solid experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring WebFlux - Expert-level SQL and MySQL skills - Production experience with Redis, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes - Someone who writes tests because you actually care about code quality - Great at reading existing code and making it better - A problem-solver who stays calm under pressure Bonus Points 🌟 - You've thrived in a startup environment before - You're great at explaining technical concepts to non-technical teammates - You've owned complex projects from start to finish - You genuinely enjoy learning new technologies What We Offer 💰 Compensation: $80,000 - $150,000 based on experience + equity 📍 Location: Remote (LA-based) or in-office (Toronto) 🎁 Benefits: Additional perks and benefits package details available upon interview We're building something special, and we want people who are excited to be part of that journey.
