Irys, originally launched as Bundlr, is an L2 protocol that enhanced the scalability of permanent data storage, handling over 96% of transactions on a major storage provider. Recognizing limitations in the original base layer, Irys is now transitioning to a Layer 1 Blockchain. This new L1 combines EVM-compatible execution with both temporary and permanent storage solutions, all unified within one network. 

This innovation facilitates “programmable data”, enabling smart contracts to natively access and use stored data. Key use cases include cost-effective cross-contract calls, decentralized AI agents, dePIN coordination layers, and dynamic incentive structures.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Role: DevRel Lead

Objective: Lead developer relations for Irys, driving community engagement, technical advocacy, and developer support.

Responsibilities:

• Community Building: Grow and nurture the Irys developer community through meetups, hackathons, and online engagement. This includes being deeply involved in BD processes.
• Technical Advocacy: Create technical content (blogs, tutorials, videos) showcasing Irys’ capabilities.
• Support and Enablement: Provide technical support and maintain documentation for developers building on Irys.
• Content Creation: Produce engaging content to educate and inspire developers about Irys.

Requirements:

• Technical Foundation: Background in crypto-native tech stacks (EVM, SVM, MoveVM etc) and Typescript.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication with experience creating technical content.
• Developer Network: Connected through the broader crypto landscape.
• Creativity and Problem-Solving: Innovative and able to develop solutions for developers.
• Media Friendly: Comfortable on camera for tutorials and webinars.
