Beta · v0.1Live pot £6,000

Hiring, powered by the whole community.

Bounties turn 500k engineers, founders and specialist recruiters into active sourcers for your role. Open to anyone who can make the intro — rewarded only when someone gets hired.

  • Community-sourced. Engineers, founders and agencies refer into the same pool.
  • Warm intros, not applications. Every candidate is vouched for by a named referrer.
  • Pay only on hire. No retainer. Invoiced on the start date, net 30.
  • 60-day guarantee. Full refund any time up to day 60 — payouts only leave on day 60.

Bounties run alongside our traditional job board — pick whichever fits the role.

How it works

Three roles, one mechanic
Companies

Post a bounty with the role, must-haves, and reward. No escrow, no retainer. Invoiced on the hire's start date, net 30; referrer and candidate paid on day 60. Full refund any time up to day 60.

  1. 01Draft brief (5 min)
  2. 02Set reward (usually 8–15% of first-year salary)
  3. 03We surface it to the right cohort
  4. 04Approve referrals, interview, hire
Referrers

Friend, former colleague or agency recruiter — anyone can refer, on the same terms. Submit through the portal, the candidate confirms, you get paid on hire. 70–80% of the bounty is yours.

  1. 01Read the bounty brief
  2. 02Submit referral via portal
  3. 03Candidate confirms the intro
  4. 04Referrer paid day 60 of hire
Candidates

You're never sold. The referrer needs your consent — you confirm via a unique link in your inbox. If the referrer's claim converts to a hire, you share the referral fee in cash.

  1. 01Get invited by a referrer
  2. 02Confirm claim with one click
  3. 03Interview like any other role
  4. 04Share of the referral fee on day 60

How referrals work, in plain English

Anyone can refer — a friend, a colleague, an agency recruiter. Four simple rules, no small print.

01

The candidate decides

A referral is only live once the candidate confirms it with one click. If two people refer the same person, the candidate simply says who introduced them — that settles it. No panels, no arbitration.

02

Anyone can refer

Friend, former colleague, community member, agency recruiter — all welcome, on the same terms. You don't need exclusivity, a contract with the employer, or a recruiting licence.

03

Already in process? No bounty

If the employer is already talking to the candidate, they'll flag it when they review the referral and no bounty is due. We take their word for it — you'll know within days, not months.

04

Paid on hire, no escrow

Employer is invoiced on the hire's start date, payable net 30. Referrer and candidate are paid on day 60. Full refund to the employer any time up to day 60. Payout in GBP, USD, EUR or USDC.

Tax & invoicing

A bounty is a finder's fee, not salary. Referrers are paid gross against an invoice and are responsible for their own income tax, self-assessment or corporation tax, and VAT where registered — VAT-registered referrers and agencies add VAT to the reward. Employers can treat the bounty as a deductible recruitment cost. Outside the UK we pay gross and you report locally. None of this is tax advice — talk to your accountant.

Legal

Referrers are not employees or agents of WorksHub or the employer. Terms live in the short referrer agreement you accept once — covering candidate consent, GDPR data-handling and the refund mechanic on early-termination hires. Draft copy is under review; we'll publish it before the board leaves beta.

Every state a referral can be in

This is the "My referrals" table you get on your dashboard. A referral starts life waiting on the candidate's one-click consent, then tracks straight through to the reward.

For agency recruiters

It works both ways for agencies.

Add a bounty to the roles you're working and the whole 500k-strong community starts sourcing for you — significantly more applications, plus warm referrals from people who actually know the candidate. Then flip it round: refer the people already in your network into other companies' bounties and earn on placements you'd never have won a contract for.

  • Post a bounty on your live roles — more applications, more referred candidates
  • Refer from your own database into any open bounty on the board
  • 70–80% of the bounty goes to the referrer
  • No client pitch, no retainer, no exclusivity to sign

Worked example

Senior ML Engineer, £120k base

Retained search (industry avg)£24,000 (20%)
Bounty reward on this board£15,000 (12.5%)
Your cut as referrer (75%)£11,250
Time to first shortlist6.4 days

Lower headline fee, but no pitch, no retainer and no exclusivity — and you can run several bounties at once from the network you already have.
